Greetings from the my author’s corner?
What do a lawyer at the end of his rope, a fast talking Cuban fly and an old Santero have in common? Nothing…until you read Of Gods, Flies and Desperate Lawyers.
Garland Nowell is a 30 something lawyer who has just lost everthing, his job, his socialite fiancée and his car, Just about to check out of life, he hears a small voice with a Spanish accent say: “Are you doing to finish that whisky?” and then his whole life changes.
It seems the fly has problems of his own…he is trying to solve a 30 year old murder of the nephew of a Santero. (For those of you who don’t know, Santeria is an Afro-Cuban worship of saints.) The fly, who prefers to go by the name of Don Julio, wants to work Garland, and Santero Teofil, to help him solve the murder of Teofil’s nephew. Garland, who was just an uemployed lawyer, is now drawn into a web of mystery and magic,
When I sat down and started to write this book, it was though a fever had over taken me. Every day when I came home from work, I would literally sit there and have a conversation with my characters. It was truly a journey of the heart. I actually had a great deal of fun writing Of Gods, Flies and Desperate Lawyers. It was an awesome journey.
I hope that you will take it with me,
Once again, Welcome New Friend!
